When opening the two fonts in a couple of image editing apps they dealt with them both just fine but then when dropping yours into the Windows font folder it says something like, "Unable to install Monaco Vanlig tekst (TrueType) font. If I drag your Monaco TTF onto my Windows desktop it has that generic I-have-no-idea-what-this-is icon where as that Monaco TTF I linked to has the standard TTF icon.
